Before you download.
Does it work outside Chrome’s default Downloads folder?
On Windows, the companion moves completed downloads to your chosen absolute path. Chrome initially downloads the file, then the companion transfers it. Installing the extension alone does not remove Chrome’s directory restrictions.
Do I need to install FFmpeg or LibreOffice myself?
The Windows companion installer can install optional conversion components. FFmpeg handles media conversion. LibreOffice handles supported document-to-PDF conversion. Select only the features you need.
What about macOS and Linux?
The integrated companion is currently for Windows 10/11 x64. A macOS or Linux companion is not available yet.
What happens if I forget the privacy PIN?
The PIN cannot be recovered. Reset the privacy settings to create a new one.
